Scenes from Turku

After Helsinki, I took a two-hour train ride (approx. 30 euros) to Turku for the wedding. I ended up having a bit more time to explore in Turku, which was nice; however, there isn’t really much to see here. In between wedding-related activities I strolled along the Aura River to see Turku Cathedral, the Market Square and Turku Castle – yup, there’s not much else beyond that.

Turku at Night
The Aura River around 1:30am. At night, the place to be at is on these riverboat bars. The boat bar we went to post-welcome reception was Aussie Bar…and not because the groom was Australian! Heads-up, there is a 3 euro cover.
Turku Castle
Turku Castle…apparently this modest building is considered a castle…and is the largest one in Finland.
