Parmesan Scallion Pastry Pinwheels
Friday was “La Fête des Voisins“, which meant each neighbor brought un petit apéro to celebrate in our small building lobby. Along with champagne, I decided to bring a Real Simple recipe one of my besties Annie makes – parmesan scallion pastry pinwheels. They’re the perfect finger food and doesn’t require a lot of preparation or many ingredients. I think they went over well since by the time I left for dinner with friends, they were all gone.

A few minor changes I make to the recipe are as follows: add 1/3 cup pecorino romano (this is in addition to the parmesan, as I like things extra cheesy and pecorino has a sharper taste) and a sprinkle of dried basil and oregano. I also brush a bit of egg wash before baking to get that golden color.
