French Phrase of the Day: Il est craquant.

French Phrase of the Day: He’s cute. / He’s sexy.

I don’t really have a story to go along with today’s phrase of the day. It’s just one of the phrases I learned in my French class this week. I think it’s pretty darn important though! Here are other ways you’ll see “craquer” used in this sense:

Qu’est-ce qui fait craquer les hommes. = What makes men hot.
Il me fait craquer. = He really does something for me. Or I really go for him. This is a tougher one to translate, but you get the picture.

And on a side note: Il me fait fondre. = He makes me melt.

Ever since I learned this phrase, I’ve been seeing “craquer” in a bunch of French magazines/news sites! It is definitely a term to know here.

  1. How interesting haha literal translation would be “he is a cracker”, “what makes men crack?” We associate “crack” that with jokes etc and here it’s an apparent compliment?? Thanks for the tip 🙂
