Eating in Paris… in August

In August, Parisians flee town and the city becomes overrun with tourists. What that also means is many of the restaurants close down for the month too – and some as early as mid-July. It’s already hard enough keeping track of which restaurants are closed Saturday & Sunday, Sunday & Monday, between 3pm and 7pm… but add the summertime, and it can be maddening trying to make reservations. I’m often left wondering if a restaurant’s not answering their phone because they’re really busy or because they’ve already shut down for the summer.

However, I did find this little post from foodie blog Paris By Mouth that lists the restaurants closed for the summer, which proves to be somewhat helpful.

Bon appétit et bon courage!
