La Nuit des Musées: Musée d’Orsay

Last Saturday night, it was Paris Museum Night AKA “La Nuit des Musées” where there was free entry to all the museums in Paris at night (6pm to midnight/1am). In fact, there was free entry to all the museums in Europe that night. Apparently they’ve been doing this in Paris for eight years now, but it was launched in Berlin back in 1997. So even though Rio just returned from NYC that morning, I dragged his little tuckus out and we went to see two of our favorite museums: Musée d’Orsay and Musée Rodin. If you’re ever in Europe during this time – I highly recommend it as there’s something magical about being in a museum at night! A lot of the museums not only have free entry but special exhibit access as well.

Here are a couple pics of the café at Musée d’Orsay. I’ve never eaten there – but the view alone makes me want to!

See Sacré-Coeur in the background?
