I eat a lot of cheese – in NY and most definitely in Paris. One of the really memorable cheeses I had this week was this little goat cheese number called Selles-Sur-Cher.
For 5,50 euros, I was able to purchase a little round Selles-Sur-Cher and it was delicious! It tasted like goat cheese… but somehow different from others I’ve tasted in the US. Upon some research, I learned that Selles-Sur-Cher is actually not available in the US because it’s made with raw goat milk and aged less than the 60 days the US government requires, so it’s considered unsafe for American consumption. Oh well – tant pis pour les Americains!
