Voila! The first pizza I ever made (besides a pita pizza in the toaster oven). One side is vegetarian with mushrooms and the other has prosciutto for Rio. I got the recipe from Epicurious and modified it a bit by using store-bought pizza dough and adding roasted tomatoes and truffle oil. It was “Italian night” for us with a burrata and tomato starter, this delicious pizza, a bottle of Montepulciano, finished with a piece of chocolate cake.
I bought practically all the ingredients at this tiny Italian shop/restaurant I’ve been wanting to try on rue Legendre in the Batignolles neighborhood and I’m so glad we finally went! The Italian owner was so nice and friendly, and I can definitely see a return trip for a casual lunch or dinner in the future.
